MJB Industries Pty Ltd

Manufacturers of Quality Concrete Pipe and Precast Products

MJB Industries Pty Ltd manufactures Concrete Drainage Pipes, Box Culverts, Ancillary Drainage Products and specialized precast within the scope of relevant standards, servicing the Civil, Mining and Construction Industry of Western Australia. Quality Accredited to ISO 9001.

Suppliers to MJB Industries Pty Ltd are assessed for their relevant compliance to associated standards in the manufacture of concrete drainage pipes. These standards cover all raw materials such as aggregates, cement, reinforcing wire, admixtures as well as the batching equipment.
Installation of the latest Meridian controlled batching equipment, ensures compliance with AS-1379 for the Manufacture of Concrete, this incorporated with the most exacting moisture control technology currently available, gives MJB a level of moisture control crucial to consistent quality output.

As part of the overall process MJB ensures that all manufacturing and testing equipment is calibrated and certified as per regulatory body requirements. MJB advocates the selection criteria set for concrete pipes as per AS 3725 Loads on Buried Concrete Pipes and reference material of the Concrete Pipe Association of Australia.

The Concrete Pipe Manufacturing process employed and the equipment used is a direct result of 25 years’ experience in the pipe and precast industry having directly and objectively assessed all current concrete pipe-manufacturing techniques for wet spun, roller suspension and the Bi-Directional Roller Compaction system. The Bi-Directional Roller Compaction technology as used by MJB was first introduced and accepted into the Australian and New Zealand concrete pipe market from the USA in the mid 90’s and sees manufacturing plants throughout the states of Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria and Western Australia. Some of the significant advantages to the end user in regard to high production outputs include dimensional accuracy, high strength concrete and uniform, consistent quality. The exacting nature of the process requires dimensionally accurate reinforcement manufacture and placement with continuous one-piece reinforcement cage through the pipe barrel, particularly the socket. Unique welding equipment and circular design used also allows pipes to be laid in any position with no specific top, saving jobsite time. Advanced production machinery ensures a virtual no-waste environment with the ability to recycle all excess materials.

With the concrete pipe part of the business firmly entrenched within the Western Australian market with major projects such as the Perth- Bunbury (Forest Highway), BHP Worsley Alumina E & G expansions, Bunbury Port access Roads, and two stages of the Ord River Scheme complete, MJB looked to dramatically expand its Precast Operation with on-going research and development and a unique versatile and innovative approach to manufacturing.

Stage 1 saw the purpose built precast factory built adjacent to the pipe operation utilizing in-house concrete batch plant, handling -and testing facilities primarily for the manufacture small and large span box culverts and storm-water drainage components.

Stage 2 of the expansion involved the formation of a 1400 m2 casting pad incorporating a moveable railed building for complete 360* access for the manufacture of larger precast projects with 50% of steel flooring devoted to the manufacture of tilt panels, bund walls and specialized precast for the Construction and Mining Industries.

Assessments and subsequent approvals of Shires, Councils, Government Departments, Consulting Engineers and the Building, Civil and Mining sectors lay testament to the future manufacturing success in the urban and regional construction industry.
